Look at the fabric in the setting where it will be worn: a fine texture can feel different from a more casual weave. Compare weight and opacity, and ask the team about composition and care. The current in-store selection determines which fabrics are available.
Fit beyond the size label
Explain how you like the collar, shoulders and sleeves to feel. Move naturally during your fitting and mention any area that feels restrictive. A shirt you already enjoy wearing can help communicate your preferences without relying on a standard size alone.
